We are delighted to announce that our colleague Fidelia Ibekwe, Professor of Information and Communication Sciences and member of the LPL, has been awarded Honorary Professor in the Department of Information Studies at University College London (UCL).

Fidelia's application was welcomed, commending her internationally recognised expertise in critical information studies, decolonial methodologies and interdisciplinary research excellence. Her work is perfectly aligned with UCL's strategic priorities, which aim to develop research and teaching with a strong social impact, while promoting equitable knowledge systems.

As part of this appointment, Fidelia will work closely with lecturers and researchers from the Department of Information Studies, such as Dr Alice Corble and Dr Alison Hicks. She will co-host a series of research seminars entitled ‘Decolonial Dialogues’ and will present the first results of her ongoing ARCHERIF project, engaging in discussions with Dr Corble, students and other researchers from the department and faculty at UCL.
